Clandestine collective The Operatives and Sydney’s most inclusive, exclusive touring and events agency Brown Bear Entertainment (BBE) are proud to present a partnership of epic proportions, code name: BEAR OPS. Their first mission offers the hottest Valentines Day on record – uniting the sounds of Lucky Me!’s ‘Coldest’ MC and producer Lunice and Number’sPlaying With Fire’ producer, songwriter and vocoder-enthusiast Redinho.

Born and raised in the city of Montreal, Canadian producer / DJ and one half of club anthem power-duo TNGHT, Lunice has always been a disciple of hip-hop. Coming up on breakbeats and having taken a stab at nearly all elements, from graffiti to beatboxing, he cut his teeth as a breakdancer and perfected his sense of rhythm and ear for music before hitting the decks and making his own beats. Now, Lunice is an international sensation – overthrowing dance floors everywhere he goes with his unique style: a perfect fusion of traditional and new outlook trap production. With a handful of other peers, he is crafting a powerful new lane in music with bigger and bolder visions for hip hop production.

Although he released a few hip-hop records under different aliases in his 20s, it was only after transitioning to electronic music production that Tom Calvert’s aka Redinho’s music started to take shape in its current form. Finding electronic music to be the ideal form to consolidate his influences – electro-funk by artists like Zapp & Roger, electronica by Aphex Twin and Squarepusher – Calvert released his debut EP as Redinho, ‘Bare Blips’, for the then-newborn Numbers imprint in 2010. After dropping his debut and self-titled album to acclaim this year the Londoner has built a name for himself with his intriguing releases that employ his trademark talkbox effects. With a background in funk and soul bands, taking a lead from turntablism and still regularly indulging in Stevie Wonder, the live potential of Redinho’s tracks is always at the forefront of his mind.
