Billy Davis is a leader in the Australian R&B and neo-soul scene. With his unique sound, positive approach, and sheer drive quickly piqued the interest of international artists, who have become not just contemporaries but friends. He’s collaborated with the likes of Goldlink and Brockhampton, music directing and performing with them both on triple j’s Like A Version, as well as Goldlink’s NPR Tiny Desk. Collaboration, with his band and other artists, it at the heart of everything he does.
Dutch producer Jarreau Vandal grew up in Amsterdam in a highly musical environment, breathing in the vibrant sounds and influence of ’90s hip-hop and alternative rock early on. Inspired by 90s rock bands, he wanted to be a drummer at first, but after his producer grandfather introduced him to electronic production, his focus shifted immediately and he began making his own tracks on his computer. He endeavored to create a personal style that blended his wide spectrum of influences while working as a promoter and DJ in Amsterdam.
Giovanni Jano, better known as Jaël , is a 25-year-old Moluccan recording artist, producer, DJ and vocalist from The Hague, The Netherlands. His passion for music began from a young age where he grew up in a household surrounded by Moluccan folk songs, Moluccan gospel, soul/funk and Japanese funk. Jaël embraced these sounds together with a broad variety of inspiration and combined it into his own signature sound: going from Soulful R&B to Heavy Bass Future Beats during his DJ sets but also in his production and/or songwriting. Soulection’s newest member bringing his eclectic tastes down under.
With his reputation growing quickly within his hometown, Melbourne MC Jordan Dennis is an artist who’ll soon find fans much further afield. The young talent made a name for himself last year as the front-man for Billy Davis, had him appearing alongside the likes of Anderson Paak and NoName. His precise flows and energetic live performances have gone from strength-to-strength. To date Jordan has featured on tracks by Poloshirt, Billy Davis, Goldlink (Like A Version), 3K, and supported the likes of 360, Baker Boy, Winston Surfshirt, Mr Carmack, Joe Kay, TOKiMONSTA and more.
Melbourne-based producer Amin Payne has adopted his TEYMORI alias to explore a distinctive take on house music. His debut EP which merges the sounds of funk, afro, soul, percussive rhythms and takes you on an organic journey with sophisticated grooves. The TEYMORI Live band consisting of Melbourne’s finest such as Horatio Luna (Bass), Close Counters (Keys) & Felix Meredith (Trumpet) will bring these grooves to the stages live and direct making you dance through the night.
Also joined by local emerging musicians DJ SPell, Mwanje, Pookie, Kalala and ThatKidMaz .
