Ever wondered what it’s like to watch professional musos create beats in real-time? Sample Section 8, as part of NONSTOP WKND, gives revellers a glimpse behind the curtain of what it takes to transform sound into art.
Beginning with a sampling session, a selection of the Operatives—a group of multi-talented musicians and curators—team up with Ableton to bring together upcoming creators and industry veterans for a collaborative creation and knowledge-sharing session.
On the day, the Operatives roster will flip and subvert the everyday sounds of Section 8, showing budding artists how to push the boundaries of beat-making using Ableton Push, Live and Note. Expect a first-hand insight into how the experts do it and take home a free beat sample pack to try it yourself. Afterwards, the dial turns to ten, and the evening shifts to the good old-fashioned Section 8 party Melburnians know and love.
