KRYSTEL DIOLA is a name that has been dabbling in the music industry over the last 10 years. Emerging as a spoken word/hip hop artist and starting her own PR and Events company called Behind The Front in 2013 curating specialised soul music events with local and international artists, as well as a DJ, and now the co-founding member of Low Key Source.

Known amongst her peers as DIOLA and the woman who can tackle pretty much anything in her local music community, one thing has remained, her reputation as ‘one-of-the-go-to’ for quality music, uncovering local artists, curating events, and DJing at events has put her forward as an artist in demand for her music service and expertise, working alongside Urchin Books at Marrickvllle Festival with her own Behind The Front spot in 2013 and 2014 showcasing emerging local soul musicians. In addition, a special stint at Sydney Festival (2013 -2014) as publicist for international touring and events company Funkdafied.

DIOLA began taking DJing as a serious profession in the last three years, with her DJ skills traversing hip hop, soul, funk, groove music and quality future soul beats. In the last two years alone, DIOLA has travelled nationally and New Zealand as a tour DJ for HAU (Triple J/ House of Beige) including Splendour In The Grass, Omar Musa (Big Village), L Fresh The Lion (Elefant Traks), Mirrah and continues to play local spots around town.

DIOLA has supported legendary neo soul artist Maxwell, House Shoes (Street Corner Music), Aaradhna and has played at Vibes On A Summers Day 2016 as part of Funkdafied’s DJ roster. On top of this, DIOLA appears on FBi Radio ‘What’s Good?’ Wednesday Sunset show with a soul mix.

For DIOLA, it’s about tastemakers music, building a community interested in soul, beats and playing to educate as much as it is important for the feel good vibes.
