The Operatives and Astral People are pleased to announce the return of San Francisco-based Giraffage. Armed with material from his brand new record Too Real, Giraffage will be playing headline shows across Australia this March.

Giraffage’s dreamy synth-pop productions have appointed him as one of electronic music’s most refreshing and innovative producers among the landscape – and his latest 10-track odyssey Too Real only cements his place on top. The album, which takes sonic and stylistic cues from such groundbreaking acts as Yellow Magic Orchestra, Haruomi Hosono, Soichi Terada, Interpol, and Radiohead, “is a return to my musical interests and roots,” he explains. Indeed, Too Real, sounds like just that– an authentic return to the music he’s believed in from the start.

Demonstrating his versatility and ingenuity as a producer, or, as Pitchfork put it, as an “omnivorous music lover”, Giraffage’s profile has raced ahead since head at lightspeed following his 2013 Needs mixtape and 2014’s No Reason EP (Fool’s Gold). Touring alongside artists like Porter Robsinon, Phantogram, Flume & XXYYXX, Giraffage continues to move from strength to strength.
