The debut and very decadent Let Them Eat Cake Festival was something to behold. Set in Werribee’s sprawling manor the first day of 2013 saw the gardens transformed into stages featuring The Palace of Versailles and a stunning gold stage was named The Bastille. Hidden delights in the forms of artwork and pop-up bars adorned the lawn and the vibe was unrelentingly magical.
Somehow, more lavish than the grounds, where the artists themselves. Let Them Eat Cake saw FLYING LOTUS debut his incredible ‘Layer 3’ audio/visual show to Melbourne. GASLAMP KILLER drop lighting on the sunlit stage, BEN UFO and PARIAH go back-to-back battling sunburn, THEO PARRISH carefully selecting worn vinyls despite the heat, and The Operatives agents were out in force, with JPS and NAM at the Pirate Ship stage.
It seemed like no dessert could ever quite compare… and then Let Them Eat Cake dropped this year’s line-up featuring:
Wolf + Lamb
