DJ KOCO AKA SHIMOKITA AU TOUR

DJ Koco aka Shimokita is widely regarded as one of the most gifted turntablists on the planet, and Australian audiences have had the rare chance to see why. Known worldwide as a vinyl wizard with insane skills on 45s and pure joy behind the decks, the Tokyo DJ has built his reputation on a format most DJs find too demanding to use exclusively. He began DJing strictly with 7-inch records in 2011, and his mixing style has been pushed to the ultimate point, transforming how 45s are played. His sets are a showcase of intricate beat juggling and deep-cut selections spanning hip-hop, funk, soul, and disco, powered by flawless technique, deep digging, and infectious energy. The world’s best have taken notice: he was the only Japanese DJ at the Technics event in Las Vegas celebrating the SL-1200MK7 launch, alongside names like Cut Chemist, Kenny Dope and Derrick May, and toured the US with DJ Jazzy Jeff and DJ Scratch on the Vinyl Destination Tour. Defected Records even named his Glitterbox Virtual Festival performance DJ set of the year. For Australian fans, catching him live is a chance to witness a true master of the craft at work
