Carving out his own lane in the Australian RnB/Rap scene from 2017, Jordan Dennis is still one half of the formidable FLY BOY JACK duo with long term producer and collaborator JUJO, and has guested on numerous tracks with artists such as Tentendo, Dugong Jr, Opiuo, Blush’ko, BOY SODA, POLOSHIRT, The Upbeats, 3K, ThatKidMaz, and more. Written in L.A, his latest single ‘4AM’ reflects the intensity of pushing to be at the top of one’s craft, which often leads to very little sleep and countless hours on the road. It’s polished RnB which showcases Dennis’ vocal ability and ingenious lyrical taste, produced by JUJO and featuring the laid back stylings of Bronx born and UK raised lyricist Outlaw the Artist, released on Friday 29th August via The Operatives.

Slightly melancholic in feel, 4AM showcases the multi-dimensional nature of Dennis’ vocal prowess. Flowing effortlessly between fast paced verses and lilting RnB melisma, there is a palpable feeling in the delivery of yearning to be great, to go beyond and to put oneself to the test. JUJO’s production is flawless modern RnB, with deep and booming trap drums and bass with gentle harp samples adding to the reflective nature of the track. Outlaw’s final verse compliments Dennis’ style, placing the track somewhere International. From Dennis:We made this song in LA back in 2023 where JUJO and I stayed with Outlaw over the course of 5 weeks. 4am to me encompassed the hustle that we were doing in the late night/early morning hours. This song makes me think of all those late nights, early trips, empty roads and how great it felt to travel because of all the time spent working on our craft.”
